Why I need an agent - or possibly carer

Had a lovely time this morning with Spring Terrace women's group, talking about writing and books. A little concerned setting off as I couldn't get the printer to work so would have to rely on memo cards. But all was well. Much of the time was taken up reading excerpts so that was easy. I did take a few copies of my first novel to sell but didn't put them on display. It wasn't until afterwards when one of the women specifically asked that I admitted had them there.

She wanted to buy one and asked how much it was. 'Um, I don't know. Five pounds maybe?'
'That's not enough,' she said.
'Okay, six pounds then?'
'Here take eight pounds.'
'Thank you.'

I am really not good at selling myself.
