From this blog from October last year:
I have an idea for a new novel. I'm currently working on a sequel to my first novel, This Time Next Year, but I have ideas floating around in my head for something completely different. I fear that unless I do something drastic it will stay, forever, as an idea in my brain.
At the time I was considering taking part in NaNoWriMo. I discarded that idea a bit later in October when I wrote:
Novel 6 in my head is very much alive and active, but in a state of constant flux. I don't have any notes written down anywhere for it.
I had completely forgotten about Novel 6, and when I say 'forgotten' I mean forgotten. It has totally escaped my mind. I have no idea what it was about. All I know is that it was definitely the novel that would have propelled me into the Best Seller, and quite possibly Booker Prize, lists. And, as I wrote, I don't have any notes. Anywhere.
I can't tell you how frustrating it is.
