One week in

I've written every day but one but I've only had one really good writing day. I've managed to write 5,439 words, some of which I'm pleased with.

So all in all I think my report card would say, 'Elizabeth needs to apply herself. She is capable of better work.'

Part of the trouble is that I'm not sure where I'm going next. There is a wedding in the offing and I need to jump to it. I'll have to find an excuse for the heroine to not write in her diary for two weeks so we can scoot ahead to the action.

Yes, that's part of the trouble but another part is that I can't remember what's happened so far. Need to go back and read it. Actually need to write something about ... that as well. Yes, that'll have to happen next.

Okay, plot sorted. Nothing like a bit of last minute panic to help you focus.

MyNoWriMo again

Fed up with my failure to write anything during lockdown I'm challenging myself again. I seem to do better with a time scale or target of some sort. I succeeded in February writing on my work in progress every day. I am quite near the end of my manuscript now so i'm setting myself the same target of writing in it every day.

I'm not aiming for the 50,000 words that NaNoWriMo sets but any amount each day will be better than I've done for ages.

Final Day MyNoWriMo

And the total I have written during the month of February is ...

Yes, I did it. Only just but February turned out to be a busier month than I remembered. But I suppose all life is like that.

I'm now on a grand total of 75,202 words for my WIP. There's still quite a bit to go but I should probably begin on the task of recording and podcasting This Time Next Year (the original adventures of Alison and her friends) simultaneously. The idea is to create interest in the sequel so even with a few more months (at least) before the WIP is ready to go I need to get cracking.

Day 27 MyNoWriMo

I have deliberately stopped a few words short of my target. I'm at an exciting bit so could have gone on but I'll have another chance to write tomorrow morning so I can hit target and do a bit extra before the end of the month.

Whoop! Whoop!

My work in progress is now at 72,510 words.

Day 23 MyNoWriMo

In spite of everything else going on I have managed to get a goodly number of words down. It's helped that I've reached an exciting part. Words flow a little better. One shocking revelation down and a frightening experience still to come.

Day 20 MyNoWriMo

Been a bad week for writing as it's half term, which involves helping look after children, as well as there being a birthday and a funeral. I've managed to get a bit done today and now we're finally up to Big Event 1.

Day 14 MyNoWriMo

A lot of what I'm writing now feels a bit like filler. There's a bit of a time gap before the next Big Event but because my novel is in diary form I feel I can't just leave out weeks. So I'm filling in.

It may well need to be edited out later but some of it is still quite fun. I am looking forward to getting on to the Big Event though.

Day 12

Sorry, these posts are probably a bit boring except to me. Today I'm celebrating breaking through the 10,000 word mark.

I suspect that an editor would remove lots of it but as they say,
